WOW ! - I called Sky about two weeks ago to ask for an upgrade to Sky+ HD (I already had Sky+).
They advised me that I had to register for the opportunity first as they had a HUGE DEMAND for HD since their advertising over the Christmas period.
I was placed on a waiting list and advised that I may be able to receive the offer to install in around 6 to 8 weeks.
Two weeks later I had a text and email advising that my Sky+ HD box had arrived at Sky and they wanted me to call to arrange an installation. (Big smile on my face)
I called and managed to get an installation for the Saturday.
The installation was quick and professional and apart from some lifting to access the back of my wall mounted plasma TV, all went without a hitch within 30mins.
The box has a capability of recording up to 80 hrs standard OR 30 hrs of HD programming on it's large 160Gb Hard Drive and with it's 31 HD channels makes a great addition to the family entertainment in the home.
The HD quality (with a 1080i HD TV, of course) is AMAZING !!.
It also has a new function called Sky Anytime. This automatically records Sky's recommended programs in the background and stores them for you. I viewed one such program the other day with my wife in HD. Not only was it a great quality HD recording - THERE WERE NO ADVERTS! - They were automatically edited out..
Highly recommended.
