Review
Opening the box:
‘Aw it’s so cute’, as my wife would say. She’s right though it’s cool looking and small (a little like Wall-E) in red and about 4 inches high.
The 3d Glasses (5 come in the box)
The quite kitch anaglyph glasses are comfortable and you can see quite easily out of them, but your eyes take a while to adjust removing them (if you don’t view a 3D image).
The 3D Webam
The instructions were quite straightforward, a sheet of A4 paper with diagrams like the Ikea instructions.
I followed them all and once the software was installed, the application runs and continues with the setup and calibration of the webcam’s ‘eyes’.
Not bad, calibration was easy but the preview was a little slow. Good fun though. (Wife loved it and was pointing at the Minoru a lot to create a 3D experience).
I've 'played' with the camera quite a bit now and think it's really good fun. The recording works well on a PC with 2Gb of RAM running Windows XP, however if you try to increase the resolution the image starts to 'stutter'.
Overall the best 3D video can be shot with careful calibration and in good light.
Try it out for yourself and amaze your friends and family with a 3D experience not to be missed.
